EMDR for Transformative Healing

In-Person in Portland and Online throughout Oregon

Heal what’s beneath the surface—where your body remembers what your mind has tried to forget.

You may not think of what you’ve been through as trauma. Maybe it didn’t come with a headline or diagnosis. But your body remembers.

The moments you froze instead of speaking up. The way your heart races when you disappoint someone. The shame that hits without warning when you try to rest, say no, or take up space. Whether your trauma was a single event or a slow erosion over time, EMDR can help you reclaim the parts of yourself that had to shut down to survive.

What Is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured, research-backed therapy that helps the brain reprocess distressing memories and beliefs that are stuck in the nervous system. These are often the root of anxiety, low self-worth, emotional reactivity, or people-pleasing patterns.

Instead of just talking about the past, EMDR allows your brain and body to fully digest what happened—so that it no longer holds the same emotional charge.

Using bilateral stimulation (often eye movements, tapping, or sound), EMDR activates your brain’s natural healing process, helping you:

  • Make sense of painful memories without reliving them

  • Rewire old beliefs like “I’m not safe” or “I’m not enough”

  • Shift how your body responds to current stress or triggers

EMDR helps your mind process trauma so you can move forward in your life.
